► Observation deck on Nikolaevskaya hill

From the highest point in the city (505 meters!) a magnificent view of the right bank of the region’s capital and its beauty – the Yenisei, the Krasnoyarsk Stolby national park, Torgashinsky Ridge, endless taiga - opens. And in the evening it is especially pleasant to observe the city lights. On the viewing platform, you can not only enjoy the views, but also have a rest, make cool photos in any season or time.

 

How to get there: you can go by car to the parking right near the viewing deck, for orienteering, use coordinates 56.00111° 92.736606° in any on-line map. If you regard public transport, so you need to go by bus 31, 88 or 90 to the bus station Biathlon Academy and then go up 1.5 km along the serpentine road, following the map.

 

► Viewing platform near the Buddha Centre in the district of Pokrovka

The viewing platform near the statue of Buddha of Infinite Light, gazing at the city, is hidden between ordinary blocks of flats of the Pokrovsky micro-district. Here you won’t see a lot of people, you can even be alone here – this what this place is famous for. How to get there: you can go by car right to the Buddha Centre in Polyarnaya st., 152. If you go by public transport, you need to take bus 81 and get off at the stop Kakhovskaya and then walk to 2^nd  Lineynaya street, turn to 7^th Prodolnaya street and then turn to Polyarnaya street, where you will see the necessary observation deck. ► Viewing platform near the monument to Andrey Dubensky

A small platform near the monument to the founder of Krasnoyarsk fort, which gave start to the city of Krasnoyarsk, is situated on a hill, where a picturesque view of Strelka – the place where the Kacha river flows into the Yenisei, and the centre and the right bank of the city opens from.  Here the Cossack ataman Andrey Anufrievich Dubensky looks at one of the most wonderful Siberian cities, which grew up from a small fort. How to get there: you need to go by car to the main building of the Krasnoyarsk State Medical University named after professor V.F. Voyno-Yasenetsky, the monument to Andrey Dubensky is situated just in some minutes walk from here down the road. If you go by public transport, go to the bus stop Medical University by one of these buses: 9, 12, 30, 49, 50, 63, 65, 71, 77, 83, 85, 87, 98, 99 or trolleybus 5, 7, 15, then you should go the direction of city centre to get to the monument.

 

► Viewing platform near the Paraskeva Pyatnitsa Chapel

 

At this viewing platform you will find not only cool point for observing the city’s beauties, but one of the most recognizable sights of the region – the Chapel of Paraskeva Pyatnitsa, which is well known thanks to its image in the ten-rubles banknote even among those who have never been to Siberia’s regions. Here, on Karaulnaya hill history and modernity are joined together. Come to enjoy the panorama, walk in the park or even organize a picnic in a warm season. How to get there: you can go by car to the old part of the Pokrovsky micro-district. Then go to Aviatsionnaya st. and go to the Pokrovsky Park. If you go by public transport, you need to take bus 81 and get to the stop Kakhovskaya. Then go between private houses  number 87 and 93 in the direction of Aviatsionnaya st. The walk will cover about  600 meters. In any case use geotag Paraskeva Pyatnytsa Chapel in on-line maps for orienteering.

 

► Observation deck at the Worship Cross on Drokinskaya mountain (Yemelyanovsky district)

Drokinskaya mountain is one of the highest point at the entrance to Krasnoyarsk from the north-western side. It is also famous with the cross, which can be seen from different points of the city and from the road near the airport. Here a small chapel and observation deck with the view of the city’s suburbs are situated.
