Basketball Club "Yenisei"

The Yenisei Basketball Club was established in 1981 on the basis of the Krasnoyarsk Polytechnic Institute, known as the Polytechnic. In Soviet times, the team played in the lower leagues, the only big achievement at that time was considered to be the victory in the 1988 USSR Cup for the teams of Siberia and the Far East.

Since the fall of 1993, Krasnoyarsk has already repsented the Yenisei in the national arena. The club played in the Premier League for three seasons, and in 1997 for the first time received the right to take part in the “East” zone of the Super League championship. In the last decade of the 20th century the team was led by such trainers as Alexander Sundukov, Sergey Ivanov and Victor Kurilov. Before the 2001/02 season, the director of the club Vladimir Petrokovsky became the head coach, and under his leadership over the next six seasons the team was a contender for joining the elite of domestic basketball, and already in 2006 BC Yenisei won in Super League B.


Currently, the Yenisei men's basketball club is training and performing under the leadership of Oleg Germanovich Okulov. The club is successfully developing and holds the strongest positions in the world basketball arena.
