24th International Chamber Orchestra Music Festival "Asia — Siberia — Europe"
From 3 to 15 September 2026, the 24th International Festival of Chamber and Orchestral Music «Asia — Siberia — Europe» will take place in Krasnoyarsk. Krasnoyarsk residents will meet leading figures of classical music from East and West. The festival will feature musicians from six countries: Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Germany and Turkey.
On 3 September, the festival’s opening concert will be held in the Small Concert Hall of the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic. The performers taking the stage that evening will include Fabio Mastrangelo from Italy, one of the world’s most sought-after conductors, and Arkady Shilkloper, a legendary multi-instrumentalist and virtuoso of the alphorn. His element is jazz and improvisation. The audience will hear works by Gioachino Rossini, Leopold and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Béla Bartók and Alexander Rosenblatt.
On 5 September , Arkady Shilkloper will perform together with renowned organist Marianna Vysotskaya. The concert programme will include his own compositions and original works.
On 8 September , the Esimde String Quartet from Kyrgyzstan will psent a pmiere. The ensemble will perform Nargiza Kurmanova’s «Fantasy on Themes of Ancient Kyrgyz Folk Melodies» and Antonín Dvořák’s famous «American» Quartet. On 9 September, they will perform with the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra conducted by Mikhail Benyumov.
The festival traditionally offers its guests an opportunity to discover rare musical instruments. On 11 September, virtuoso musicians from China and Turkey will perform in Krasnoyarsk. Wu Wei will play the ancient Chinese mouth organ known as the sheng, while Cagatay Akyol will play the harp.
The festival’s central event will take place on 15 September. German composer Enjott Schneider will once again psent a world pmiere at the festival. He titled it «The Swan — Cosmic Symbol and Archetype Beyond Time and Space», a work for sheng, harp, string orchestra and percussion. Schneider drew inspiration from ancient Siberian myths, in which the swan is a sacred bird connecting the sky, earth and water. The closing concert will open with Joseph Haydn’s «The Bear» Symphony. The conductor will be Maria Benyumova.
