Shushenskoye settlement

This village has long been one of the main tourist points on the map of Russia. In Soviet times it attracted places associated with the name of V.I. Lenin, now Shushenskoye is a real ethnic center of the region with its own historical and ethnographic museum – the reserve. On the territory of the museum, the “New Village” complex has been launched, which offers tourists to enjoy living in the authentic atmosphere of houses of the 19th century in compliance with all the canons of peasant life of that time. In Shushensky, the most significant tourist event in the south of the region is held - the international festival of ethnic music and crafts "World of Siberia". The festival annually gathers more than 30,000 tourists from all over Russia and neighboring countries. For 3 days, Shushenskoye turns into the capital of the ethnic movement of Russia. You can hear everything: from the music of the nomadic peoples of Siberia, to the tom-toms of African tribes. The living conditions at the festival are very diverse: from a tent to a hotel. The ethnographic route “The Great Sayan Ring”, which has been successfully implemented for 15 years, connects three Siberian regions and has access to Mongolia, also passes through Shushenskoye.
