Krasnoyarsk will host the World’s Language Festival for the seventh time

 

On August 29, the VII Festival of Young Spectator Theatre The World’s Language, which will psent performances for teenagers, youth and family audience, will start in Krasnoyarsk.

 

The plays will take place on three stages of Krasnoyarsk: in the Young Spectator Theatre, the Opera and Ballet Theatre named after
D.A. Hvorostovsky and in the Drama Theatre named after
A.S. Pushkin.

 

The festival will open with the play  Matrosskaya Tishina by Oleg Tabakov Moscow Theatre. On August, 29 and 30 two performances will be shown in the Opera and Ballet Theatre named after D.A. Hvorostovsky.  In 1990 Matrosskaya Tishina had appeared in the repertoire of the Tabakov Studio Theatre and for ten years it remained the principle performance of the Tabakera.  In 2019 the play by Alexander Galich returned to the stage of the theatre. The directors of the play are Vladimir Mashkov and Alexander Marin.

 

On September 3, 4 in the Drama Theatre named after A.S. Pushkin  the performance Me – Sergey Obraztsov by the Puppet Theatre named after S.V. Obraztsov will take place. The director and stage director is Ekaterina Obraztsova. The spectators will make a puppet trip   throughout the 20th century. Evgeny Tsyganov is in the lead role. The performance is based on the autobiographical book by S.V. Obraztsov “Along the stairs of memory”.

 

On September 5, 6, 7 on the stage of Krasnoyarsk Young Spectator Theatre the play Kalechina-Malechina  will be performed by Nyagan Young Spectator Theatre. The director is Soizhin Zhambalova. Kalechina-Malechina is a story about a girl who “hasn't grown up” and is not regarded as a person (at least, she thinks so). “When I grow up, I will…” - dreams a girl named Katya. The play is a laureate  of the special jury’s award for creative achievements in the sphere of theatre art GOLDEN MASK 2024

 

On the 9th, 10th and 11th of September the play  Warsaw Melody will be performed by the Theatre named after Evgeny Vakhtangov  on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Young Spectator. This is a stage version by the Honoured Artists of Russia, professor Vladimir Ivanov.

 

On September 13 and 14 in the Drama Theatre named after A.S. Pushkin will show the performance Chagin  by the Moscow Theatre Sovremennik. Director: Sergey Tonyshev. The play with deep  dive into the new novel by the modern classic Evgeny Vodolazkin is full of  dynamics and subtle humour.

 

On September 13 and 14 on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Young Spectator Theatre the performance Sonya-9 will be shown by the Moscow Art Theatre named after A.P.Chekhov. The director is Sasha Zolotovitsky. Sonya-9 is a play concert based on the same-name comics by Aleksey Oleynikov. Rap-comics have recently gained wide popularity among the readers of school age as well as those whose Last Bell rang long ago.  

 

During these days the festival will be extended with the off-programme, in the framework of it the Krasnoyarsk Young Spectator Theatre will show a parade of pmieres, released during the 2024-2025 season:

 

Alisa based on the fairy-tales by L .Caroll, director and designer  Daniil Akhmedov;

 

Aladdin. The Tailor’s Son based on the collection of the Arabian fairy-tales and stories of Thousand and One Nights, director and stage designer Daniil Akhmedov;

 

Childhood by L.Tolstoy (pmiere), director Filipp Gurevich;

 

Dwarf’s Nose by V. Hauff (pmiere), director Yulia Belyaeva;

 

Dead Souls based on the poem by N. Gogol (pmiere), staged by the Rap-Theatre’s team;

 

The First Love (pmiere), director Ksenia Peschik;

 

Krylov’s Fables (pmiere), director Soizhin Zhambalova.
