Holy Lake Plotbischenskoye

The holy lake Plotbischenskoye is not a lake, but a dead arm of river, that means that in the past it was part of the Kem River. Located 24 km from Yeniseisk, Krasnoyarsk Territory. A lot of legends go around the lake, but the main one says that the lake got its modern name - the Holy - from the miraculous icon found in it. The healing properties were discovered by a certain tramp who was healed of scurvy wounds. It was first mentioned as medical in 1855, when a local doctor wrote to the Governor-General of Eastern Siberia N.N. Muravyov-Amursky: "17 versts from the city of Yeniseysk there is Lake Plotbischenskoye. It has been reported that the lake has a healing effect for bathing in it ... Water heals wounds and ulcers, cures scrofula, reduces lichen, remains of boils ...". At the beginning of the 20th century, lake mud was used with excellent results in the hospitals of Yeniseisk. However, to the psent days, their widespad use has not been organized due to insufficient knowledge of the reservoir.

A lot of people gather here on warm summer days. Holy Plotbischenskoe Lake is surrounded by pine trees, immersed in forbs and multicolor. The northern shore of the lake is open, there are convenient paths, numerous sandy beaches, springs hit. The western shore of the lake is swampy and forested.
