Gulyaevka Rapids on the Kazyr River

The name of the river Kazyr, situated in the south of the Krasnoyarsk region, is translated as cruel, ferocious from Khakas language.  The Kazyr valley from  the upper and practically to the  place where the Kizir flows into it,  is narrow and has lots of rapids. The last most picturesque rapid on the river is named after the village, situated nearby — Gulyaevka. The Gulyaevka rapids is an usual place, for many people it is a happy place. The water here has grind the stones so, that they have formed an amazing gallery of rock sculpture art.
According to the legends, which are told among the local people, the rapids have artificial origin. In far ancients times the river was blocked by the repsentatives of an unknown civilization with quite huge stones of strict geometric shapes. 

Ordinary tourist will appciate the beauty of these places, and the bravest ones can try to tame the element, passing these rapids on different floating means. The rafting trips along the Kazyr river with passing above the Gulyaevka rapids start up the river.
