Flora and Fauna Park Roev Ruchey

The Flora and Fauna Park Roev Ruchey is situated on the right bank of Krasnoyarsk, next to the Stolby National Park and the Bobrovy Log Fun Park. The zoo got its name after the brook, flowing nearby. The total area of Roev Ruchey is 50 hectares, which makes it one of the largest zoos in Russia.
The history of the zoo started in 1950-s. This is when Elena Krutovskaya created Doctor Aybolit’s Shelter — a petting zoo in the Stolby Reserve. The granddaughter of a famous Krasnoyarsk doctor and a public person Vladimir Krutovskoy actively helped the animals, which had suffered from poaching, thanks to donations from the locals. In different periods there were up to 250 species of animals living in her petting zoo. Some of them were included into the Red Book: tundra swan, eastern imperial eagle, honey buzzard, bar-headed goose, eagle owl.
Over 25 years ago the Roev Ruchey Zoo started its history from a petting zoo in the Stolby Reserve and some animals from Novosibirsk Zoo. Roev Ruchey opened on the 15th of August 2000. Today over 9 thousand animals live here, 350 of them are included into the International Red Book.

You can see mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians and invertebrates in Krasnoyarsk zoo. Animals from all over the world, including the exotic and rare ones, are brought to the zoo. There is an excellent aqua terrarium, a pinguinarium and enclosures with polar bears and giraffes here.
In summer a contact mini zoo also works in the park. Calves, lambs, baby goats, geese, gobblers, quails, rabbits and porpoises live here. A real mini village! Children can pet the animals, take them into their hands and take pictures with them.
In the territory there is a café and kiosks with ice-cream, water and cotton candy. At the entrance you can purchase fodder for animals and birds to feed them.

Roev Ruchey is included into top five best zoos in the country. In 2025 the park got the All-Russian title of Russia’s Cultural Brand and was included into the list of natural and cultural sights of the country.
A ticket to Roev Ruchey costs 600 rubles for an adult and 400 rubles for a child; children under 5 years old can come for free. There are also some variants of special rate and free tickets.
You can get to the zoo by public transport. You need buses 19, 50, 78 or 106.
