About the program:
In the Small Concert Hall of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Philharmonic the masterpieces of the great Russian composers Petr Tchaikovsky and  Sergey Vasilyevich Rachmaninov  - will be performed. In the first section Ilya Papoyan, a laureate of the XVII International Tchaikovsky Competition, will psent the legendary Concert for piano with an orchestra No 1 to the spectators. The piano concert abounds in virtuosic piano techniques, demonstrating the skill of mastery of the instrument.  He has long become an integral part of the international competitions and concert programs of the leading pianists of the world. The soloist’s part was repeatedly performed by Sergey Vasilyevich Rachmaninov as well – the composer and pianist, whose Symphony No1 will be played in the second part. The drama and emotional deepness of the four-hour symphony will demonstrate a vast range of feelings: from deep triste to bright hope. Ivan Vsevolodovich Shpiller liked the first symphony very much and performed it many times with Krasnoyarsk symphony orchestra. On the eve of the 90th anniversary of the outstanding conductor Krasnoyarsk symphony orchestra invites to listen to Rachmaninov’s genial symphony!

 

About the performers:
Ilya Papoyan is a graduate of the Saint Petersburg state conservatory, from 2024 he is a lecturer of the special piano chair, an assistant trainee in the class of professor Alexander Sandler.

 

Already at the age of nine years Ilya became a laureate of F.Chopin International youth competition (Saint Petersburg, 2010), and being thirteen, he gave his first solo concert on the stage of the State Academic Capella in Saint Petersburg. We should mention the following ones of the numerous victories of the famous pianist: the V International Competition  City of Vigo — Galicia (Spain, 2021; the I Prize and People’s Choice Award), the X International Competition  named after F.List (Weimar, 2021;  a grant for education in the University of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar, a nominee for  Bechstein Award, Frankfurt Am Main, 2021). Ilya Papoyan is the laureate of the I International Competition named after S.V. Rachmaninov among pianists, composers and conductors (Moscow, 2022; III prize) and XVII International Competition named after P.I. Tchaikovsky (Moscow, 2023; III prize). He is also the holder of the President’s Grant, the soloist of the Saint Petersburg Music House, a scholarship holder of the Artis Futura Fund.

 

The pianist performs on the leading stages of Moscow, Saint Petersburg, in the cities of Russia and abroad. In December 2022, his debut solo concert took place on the stage of the Big Hall of the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic named after D.D. Shostakovich, and in February 2023 he gave his debut solo concert on the stage Flagey (Brussels) in the framework of the Piano Days Festival. Ilya Papoyan is a participant of numerous festivals, including the International Conservatory Week (2020), XI International Festival Silver Lyre (2020), Pianissimo (2022, 2023), Denis Matsuev psents the dialog of generations (2023, 2024), Russian Piano School (2023, 2024).

 

The Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra performs on the leading stages of the country: the Big Hall of the Saint Petersburg Academic Philharmonic name after D.D. Shostakovich, the concert hall  of the Mariinsky Theatre, P.I. Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, Moscow concert hall Zaryadye and etc. The band collaborates with the best recording companies of the world: Naxos, Melodia, Parma, Navona and others.

 

Since 2015 maestro Vladimir Lande has been the chief conductor and artistic director of the Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra. Под его руководством the orchestra takes part in the international festivals, such as Trans-Siberian Art Festival (artistic director — Vadim Repin), New Names to the Regions of Russia (artistic director — Denis Matsuev), Dmitry Hvorostovsky Festival, Art Festival The Bells).
