Shumikha Bay: Instruction for Use

 

Shumikha Bay is one of the most popular place for rest at the Krasnoyarsk sea among the residents and guests of the Krasnoyarsk region. Shumikha Bay is situated near the Krasnoyarsk Hydro-Power Electric Station, and this is the first and the last place for the nearest 150 km close to Krasnoyarsk where you can approach to the sea by car. Here the Shumikha river flows to the water reservoir, that is why the place is called so. At Shumikha there are several recreation centres, private cottages, some of which are for rent, and yacht clubs with its sailing yachts complement the picturesque panorama of the bay.

 

HOW TO GET THERE

 

From Krasnoyarsk you need to go along the R-257 road, passing by Divnogorsk. Turn right to the bridge over the Yenisei before the hydro-electric station. At the 49^th km turn left from the main road according to the sign pointing to  the Krasnoyarsk sea. Go 200 meters more and you’ll get to the beach in the bay.

You can take meals with you and make a small picnic at the seaside or have lunch in a café at one of the recreation centres.
