Chornaya Sopka
Chornaya Sopka is an extinct volcano, as well as the highest point of Torgashinskiy ridge (688 m!), which has stretched over 20 km along the right bank of the region’s capital. Nevertheless Karatag (the name of the hill in Khakass language) has been considered to be an extinct volcano for over 1,5 million years, it is classified as an active one in the database of EMERCOM services!
How to get there:
By car: on the right bank of Krasnoyarsk take a route to Kutuzov street, them move to Montazhnikov street, go to the turning to the Kuznetsovo aerodrome and turn right. Already after several kilometers you’ll find yourself on the main road of Kuznetsovo village, after that you need to go to Lesnaya street. Go upstairs, turning to the right at all the forks and bypassing the asphalt. Just in five minutes, you will get to the gravel road, going to the right near the border of the forest, where new cottages appear. Your exit is near the wide forest path on the left, which leads to the forest – this is the start of the trail to Chornaya Sopka.
By bus: Route 118а, which goes from the bus stop Kraspharma (60 Let Octyabrya street) to the village of Kuznetsovo. Then, like in case of travelling by car, you should get to Lesnaya st. and the entrance to the forest zone.
