To escape for a trip even for a day is always a good idea! We offer you two interesting routes which will not take much time, but they will exactly give you lots of emotions. Choose the first one, if you want to make great photos and admire the views. As for the second one, it is good, if you are eager to get new knowledge about the unique buildings of the region, and of course, to have some fun.
Krasnoyarsk Big Ben – Tsar Fish observing ground – Divnogorsk embankment – Krasnoyarsk HPP
► We offer to choose Krasnoyarsk Big Ben as the start point of our trip. Come here in the morning closer to a new hour (for example, by 10:00), in order to hear the tower’s sound. And after that turn to the right bank and enjoy the magnificent view of the Yenisey and mighty rocks. We personally know, that you can stand and just regard this panorama for a long time – the views are incredibly enchanting! After admiring and getting charged with beauty in the city go to the second point of our route - there the next delight to your eyes is waiting for you.
How to get there: go to Karl Marx street, 93, there one of the famous city towers will wait for you.
► So, we go to the Tsar Fish observing ground in the village of Sliznevo. There a monument of the same name, erected for the 80th anniversary of the writer Victor Astafiev, will meet us. Magnificent views from the 300-metres height over the mighty Yenisey, endless mountain chains, a stone sturgeon regarding the beauties of Yenisey Siberia – all this fascinates everyone! We do have to make photos here from different points for memory. Just imagine, what great shots you’ll be able to show to your colleagues after this week-end:)
How to get there: go along Dubrovinskiy street to the Nikolaevskiy bridge. Having got to the right bank, turn to the direction of the Bobrovy Log Funpark, and after passing it, move to the direction of Divnogorsk. When approaching to Sliznevo village before the sharp turn to the left, turn to the parking of the Tsar Fish observing ground. This route will take you about 30 minutes.
► After that we suggest you going to the embankment of Divnogorsk. The place have already gained especial popularity and love both of the locals of the town and guests from Krasnoyarsk and other places of the region. The embankment is divided into several zones, so you will certainly find an interesting activity for you. We offer to make a small promenade along the river, admire the opening views of the amazing rocks, descend to the Yenisey and feed ducks. If you travel with children, go the playground . And in the end of the walk you can make a collective photo at the backdrop of the wooden signature Divniy.
How to get there: first go the direction of Sliznevo village, pass by the villages Ovsyanka and Ust-Mana. After crossing a small bridge over the Mana river go straight ahead until you reach Studencheskiy avenue in Divnogorsk. Then go to the right to Gidrostroiteley street, and after passing by Memory stone devoted to the first builders, turn right to the embankment. The way will take about 20 minutes.
► And now we are going to the final point of our enjoyable route – the Krasnoyarsk hydro-power electric station, which is the second largest power plant in our country. In front of you the construction astonishing everyone with its sizes will appear. It’s quite difficult to get to the hydro-power station with an excursion, so you’d better just go and see this manmade giant (even if you have already been here)! Look, how perfectly the genius construction is integrated into the nature landscape and… again take a photo for memory :) And if you are lucky, you’ll have a chance to see the spillway and the element in all their beauty with your own eyes!
How to get there: leaving the embankment of Divnogorsk go to the lower passage on the way from Krasnoyarsk. Then turn to the P-257 road and go to the HPP. This way will take about 10 minutes.
Pokrovskiy Cathedral – Farm Koza-Dereza – Chastoostrovskoye - Barabanovo
► We suggest the Pokrovskiy cathedral – the eldest of the pserved stone buildings in Krasnoyarsk – as the start point of our route. This stone church was being built for 10 years by the noble Mikhail Yushkov and builders from Yeniseisk. The parishioners gathered money not only in the town, but in the villages as well. So, the building of the church started in 1785 and finished in 1795. During Stalin’s period the cathedral was used for the proper purpose – a sculpture workshop and an exhibition hall were located here. Visiting this place, you’ll get to the atmosphere of the past. Don’t be shy to ask the church’s staff about the details – they will eagerly tell you about the history of this amazing place. And, of course, pay your attention to the fresco of the late 18th – early 19th century, depicting the feast day.
How to get there: go to Surikov street, 26. There you’ll see one of the most beautiful churches in the city.
► Then we go to have some bite, move and have some fun at the eco-farm Koza-Dereza. What exactly will we do here? – We’ll feed little goats, sheep, ponies, donkeys, dogs, cats and even geese (if you are not afraid of them, of course :)). After that we’ll go to enjoy farm burgers and dumplings or full lunch in the tavern of the eco-farm. After lunch we can drop in the farm shop with the diversity of local cheese and the tastiest farm products – let’s buy some for the future (we recommend you the local cheese with a funny name Drunk goat)! And if we have a chance, we’ll do something of clay or other materials with our hands at the master class by Koza-Dereza (learn the schedule on the official web-site in Services and Programs page). By the way, this place is especially attractive for leisure with children – it has a large territory with a lot of space for games!
How to get there: from the Pokrovskiy Cathedral go to Shakhterov street. Then turn to 9 May street, go to the very end of it and turn to Yeniseyskiy road. Go straight along it to the 21st km. There you’ll find the Koza-Dereza eco-farm there. The trip will take you about 35-40 minutes without traffic jams.
► After having good lunch and much fun let’s go to the village of Chastoostrovskoye. This is place is unique due to the fact that there is the only oval shaped church in Eastern Siberia here, not a round one as it’s usually. The Holy Trinity church was built in 1824 instead of the wooden one of the same name, which had existed here since 1730. Earlier there was a library in the church and it contained 327 books – the major of them are bishops’ certificates and Bibles with engravings. During the revolution time there were attempts to explode the building, but it stayed: the foundation turned to be so durable. In 1965 the church was destroyed, but now you can admire it already reconstructed. There is also the only behind the Urals memorial to the Heroes of the First World War in the territory of the church. And near it there is a full-size copy of the armoured truck Ostin-Putilovets of 1916 edition. So. If you want to see some kind of man made masterpieces, do include Chastoostrovskoye into your route!
How to get there: from the eco-farm you need to go to Yeniseyskiy road and take return direction to the city. On reaching the 04К-291 road, turn left and go to the village Chastoostrovskoye. Find Zelenaya street there and go straight to house 10Б – this is the HolyTrinity church. The way will take you about 25-30 minutes.
► We have chosen Barabanovo village as the final point of our route. The unique building – the oldest of the remained wooden churches of the Krasnoyarsk region - the Saint Paraskeva Pyatnitsa church, built in 1857 in the ancient Cossacks’ settlement, is situated here. Thanks to the unusual architecture it is unofficially considered to be the local Kizhi. And it is also remarkable with its big sizes which are not typical for remote village churches of the 19th century. The inner decorations in the church have been pserved by miracle: strict images of the saints are painted right on the wooden walls. The beams with the frescos have never be renovated – everything has been pserved in its original look since the 19th century. That is why the residents and guests of the region have a unique opportunity to touch the history of the region with their own hands. And here we suggest finishing our exciting route and come back to Krasnoyarsk.
How to get there: go back to road 04К-291. Move to the opposite direction from Chastostrovskoye. Then turn to road 04Н-312, and after that go along this road to Barabanovo. There you should turn to Centralnaya street where you’ll find the Saint Paraskeva Pyatnitsa church.
