The Big Lake

The Big Lake is the largest of the most popular fresh water bodies in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. It is located 40 kilometers west of the city of Uzhur, Sharypovsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in the eastern spurs of the Kuznetsk Alatau. At the northern end of the lake is the village of Parnaya, due to which the lake is often called Parnaya. Parnoe Lake is located almost on the border of the mountain taiga and the steppe expanses of the Chebakovo-Balakhtinsky depssion. Its western mountainous coast is not covered by forest, and the eastern coast is hilly and mostly steppe. The lake is interesting for its history - during the Bolshevik repssions, blasphemers cut bells on the church. And religious people drowned the bells in this lake to save them. Many expeditions were carried out to the bottom of the reservoir, but nothing was found. One thing is for sure, when you get here, you feel special grace, solitude with nature and proximity to something higher.
