Yenisei River

The Yenisei River is one of the largest and most beautiful rivers in the world. The river originates in the Sayan Mountains and, having passed all the climatic zones of Siberia, flows into the Karskoe Sea of the Arctic Ocean. The Yenisei serves as a kind of natural boundary between Western and Eastern Siberia; from south to north, it flows almost strictly along the meridian. The length of the great river is more than 4000 km, over the course of which more than 500 rivers and streams flow into it. Three hydroelectric power plants were built on the Yenisei: Krasnoyarskaya, Sayano-Shushenskaya and Mainskaya. The river is the most important waterway of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Regular shipping provides constant cargo flows from Krasnoyarsk to Dudinka. And, of course, the Yenisei is a visiting card of the capital of the region - the city of Krasnoyarsk. Mighty and magnificent, it impsses with its beauty and grandeur. Along the river in the city, the main Krasnoyarsk embankment is arranged - a favorite place for walking for guests and residents of the city.
